We follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

If you have a question about this policy or about how your information is handled, write to the address above.

What we collect

Information you give us. When you complete the contact form, we collect the name, company, email address and message you enter. If you contact us by email or through LinkedIn instead, we collect whatever you choose to include in that message.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, this site records basic technical information when you visit: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, time spent, and the site or link that referred you. We use website analytics to understand which pages are useful and how visitors find us.

We do not ask for, and do not want, sensitive information through this website. Please do not send financial account details, government identification numbers, or confidential information about your company or employees through the contact form.

Why we collect it

We use the information you give us only to:

  • reply to your enquiry and arrange a conversation;
  • provide the consulting, training or coaching services you ask about;
  • send you a resource you requested;
  • keep ordinary business records of who we have spoken with.

We use the information collected automatically only to understand how the site is used and to keep it working and secure.

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. We do not add you to a mailing list because you filled in the contact form; if we ever start a newsletter, you will have to ask for it.

Consent

By sending us a message through this website you consent to our collecting and using that information for the purposes above. You can withdraw that consent at any time by writing to us, subject to any legal or contractual records we are required to keep.

Who else sees it

We use a small number of service providers to run the site and our business. They may store or process information on our behalf:

  • our website host, which stores the site and its database;
  • our email provider, which delivers and stores messages;
  • our website analytics provider, which processes usage data.

These providers may store information on servers outside Canada, including in the United States. While information is in another country, it is subject to that country’s laws and may be accessible to its courts and government authorities. We choose providers that commit to protecting the information they handle for us.

We will otherwise disclose personal information only where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect our rights.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working and to measure how it is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking them may affect how parts of the site behave.

Links to other sites

This site links to LinkedIn and may link to other third-party sites. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. Read their policies before giving them your information.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as needed to respond and to maintain a reasonable record of our business contacts, and then delete them. Analytics data is kept for the period set by our analytics provider.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access or disclosure, including a secure (HTTPS) connection and access controls on the systems we use. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

Under PIPEDA you may:

  • ask what personal information we hold about you and how it has been used;
  • ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • withdraw your consent to our use of your information;
  • ask us to delete the information we hold about you.

Write to tod@w41consulting.com and we will respond within a reasonable time, normally within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
